After a short night, we
started our first day in Australia with a lovely breakfast at 8am. Then we took
the hop-on/hop-off bus to explore the city of Sydney.

We passed Woolloomooloo Bay
and got off the bus at the Royal Botanic gardens nearby the Opera House. After
a little photoshoot, we went down to the Opera House. We took a tour with our
guide, Vicky, who was very enthusiastic and sweet. We learned a bit about the
history of the Opera House, saw some of the theatres and heard some lovely
anecdotes. The biggest theatre was so pretty!

We hopped on the bus again and
drove to Hyde Park Barracks. After a quick lunch our guide told us more about
the convicts and how they lived. We even enjoyed a little nap in the convicts’
hammocks (not the original ones, luckily!) Afterwards, we visited Hyde Park
where I read a poem about world war 1.

After a quick stop at the Chinese
gardens for a little peace and quiet (and a huge reptile!) it was back on the
bus and on to see the Sydney Harbour Bridge close-by. We also ate an ice-cream.

Tonight we went to the Sydney
Tower Eye, a very tall building that gave us a view of the whole of Sydney.

Finally it was on to the
Chinese restaurant (after Ms Tytgat made us walk the wrong way for ten
minutes). By then most of us ware too tired to eat much. So it’s on to our beds
now.
